The economic effect of Orenburgneft's energy saving program in 2023 exceeded 219 million rubles

Orenburgneft, Rosneft's largest producing asset in the Volga Region, saved over 60 million kWh of electricity in 2023, which amounts to over 219 million rubles in the monetary equivalent. The effect was achieved through implementation of the energy efficiency and energy saving program.

Improvement of the Company's production asset efficiency is one of the key components of the Rosneft‑2030 Strategy. The Company carries out consistent work aimed at sustainable utilization of resources and reduction of energy consumption, optimization of electrical loads and thermal processes. Orenburgneft's energy management system fully complies with Russian and international standards.

Within the framework of implementation of the energy saving and energy efficiency program in 2023, Orenburgneft employees optimized the operation of pumping equipment in oil treatment, oil pumping and reservoir pressure maintenance systems, upgraded downhole submersible equipment in oil production, re-engineered onshore infrastructure and reconstructed power grids.

In particular, optimization of pumping equipment operation was carried out at the Rybkinskaya cluster pumping station, which saved about 6.5 million kWh of electricity. Also in 2023, the company replaced submersible electric motors in oil production; the effect of the measures reduced energy consumption by almost 5.5 million kWh. In addition, the amount of associated water was reduced during repair and insulation works at oil production wells. Due to this, the company managed to save another 10.5 million kWh of electricity.
