12 January 2021

Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha, a production enterprise of Rosneft Oil Company, has discovered a new large gas and condensate field following an appraisal drilling on the Nizhnedzherbinsky license area. Over 75 billion cubic metres of gas and 1.4 million tonnes of gas condensate have been registered with the State Reserves Commission.

Specialists have confirmed the commercial gas reserves and high productivity of the field, as well as its considerable potential for further exploration.

The new deposit is named after Ivan Nikolaevich Kulbertinov, one of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, a native of the Olekminsky ulus of Yakutia.

By means of its subsidiary Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha, Rosneft is carrying out large-scale geological exploration work in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). High efficiency of exploration work (three fields discovered in two years) is achieved with innovative technologies, an integrated approach to conducting exploration work, and effective cooperation between Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha and RN-Exploration geologists and specialists from RN-KrasnoyarskNIPIneft Institute, part of Rosneft Research and Design Complex.
